Local police have charged a Danbury man in a stabbing assault that happened recently in Bethel.

According to the Bethel Police Department, 22-year-old Ricardo Ferraz DeOliveira Guedes of Danbury was taken into custody on Tuesday (December 4) after an investigation led to a warrant for his arrest.

Police say the victim alleges that the November 30 stabbing was in retaliation to comments the victim made in regards to Ricardo Guedes' girlfriend.

CT Post reports that the arrest was made when an officer in an unmarked car spotted Geudes' Honda Civic on Peace St in Danbury. He was reportedly pulled over and arrested without any further incident.

Ricardo Ferraz DeOliveira Guedes was charged with first degree assault and held on a court-set $100,000 bond and was set to be arraigned in Danbury Superior Court Thursday, December 5.

As of this writing, there has been no update regarding the medical condition of the victim.
