Bethel police say the man pictured in the photo has installed skimming devices in Bethel and New York City. The suspect is seen in a surveillance video installing a skimming device in an ATM at a McDonald’s restaurant.

According to newstimes.com Bethel police found the skimming device on Aug. 21 and sent it to the state Forensic Laboratory for processing.

Police said DNA pulled from the device matched two similar cases in New York City, including one at a McDonald’s restaurant on Third Avenue, where the suspect was seen on this surveillance video.

Police in Bethel have not revealed the location of the ATM, but fortunately they do not believe anyone’s information was stolen or compromised because the device did not have the ability to transmit any information.
Since the device was found by Police it would be impossible for the suspect to download any personal info since he would have had to pick up the device to read the information captured.

Police also ask anyone who recognizes the suspect to call Det. Matt Zavatsky at 203-744-7900.
