Today might be one of my favorite days of the year. Why, you ask? Because if you're someone who loves the sky like me, you will understand.

Today, April 7, will have the biggest supermoon of the year, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. This moon is being referred to as the Pink Supermoon.

The moon should shine throughout the night, but will appear the clearest at 10:35 pm EST. Since we have all been inside for quite some time now, take that minute to step outside tonight and appreciate the moon.

While there will be three supermoons in 2020, this one will be closest to Earth, so it will appear clearer, and larger than the others. Even though it has the name "Pink Moon" doesn't necessarily mean that it will be pink. In fact, it will stay its normal color, but becoming increasingly brighter as it gets to its clearest point. The term "pink" moon comes from the early springtime blooms of a certain wildflower native to eastern North America, according to the article.
