The work and empowerment for children that this group of amazing men and women do all across the country is inspiring. Bikers Against Child Abuse would like you to know about their organization.

I don't think many of us can wrap our head around the trauma and fear that any child who has suffered abuse endures. With that said, I so admire the work and dedication of B.A.C.A.®, Bikers Against Child Abuse. Information about the national organization can be found at Bacaworld.org.

To say that their rules are stringent is an understatement. For starters, members have to pass an FBI background check.

Truly, you have to take a moment to read the mission statement on the Bacaworld.org site. What these men and women strive to do for the children of the world is amazing. It reads, in part:

Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live.

In Connecticut, we have two B.A.C.A.® chapters, the newest being the Western CT Chapter.

This chapter is hosting their first Open House / Meet & Greet open to the public on Saturday, July 9, at the VFW Post #308 in Newtown, at Freedom Defenders Way (formerly 18 Tinkerfield Road )

The event goes from noon to 8 PM, with food, beverages, door prizes, 50 /50, and live music from Last Train and 5 Car Pile Up.
