Brookfield High School Host’s ‘We Care Charity 5K Run’ [Register Here]
The National Honor Society of Brookfield High School in conjunction with the Woodbridge Running Company is hosting the "We Care 5K" on April 26th at the High School.
The We Care 5K will be donating its net proceeds to support Jared Carreras, a young Brookfield resident suffering from Hydrocephaulus (a debilitating brain condition that has left him blind and bound to a wheelchair).
You may remember Jared from my blog on the viral video of a song his step-dad made for him. Check it out here.
The family wishes to purchase a new van which would help them with their multiple trips to Yale-New Haven Hospital as well as school.
In addition, a portion of the proceeds will also go to Brookfield Cares, a community based organization dedicated to promoting awareness and education by focusing on the impact of the substance abuse, depression, suicide and other public health concerns.
