Brookfield: Shamrock 5K to Benefit Disabled Heroes
The Brookfield Lacrosse club is hosting the 4th Annual Shamrock Run on March 20 at Brookfield High School, with registration starting at 8:45 AM, and the race at 10:00 AM.
Anyone interested in running can register at www.Brookfieldrun.com, and the fee is $26 for those who pre-register, and $30 the day of the race. Everyone who registers before March 6 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. This year, they are dedicating their efforts to raise money for Hope for Heroes, and the Brookfield Boys and Girls High School Lacrosse programs, for the purchase of new uniforms and helmets.
Hope for Heroes was founded in 2010 by retired Westchester County K9 Police Officer, and US Army 101st Airborne Scout Sniper, Mitch Serlin.
Through this community of hope and healing, these “everyday heroes” once bound by negative thought patterns and/or loss of mobility, unite and rebuild a sense of accomplishment by doing things they enjoy. Founder, Mitch Serlin, also hosts yearly events at a lodge on 1600 acres in Burkesville, KY.
