Several patrons escaped injury when a car smashed into a restaurant in Connecticut.

What a scary scene! Take a look at those pictures. I cannot begin to imagine what goes on in your mind when one minute you are enjoying a casual meal and the next minute, a car comes crashing through the wall.

Uhh — Check please!

The Westport Fire Department posted on their Facebook page that a vehicle drove into a restaurant filled with people at 4:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon. Rescue units were dispatched to the building on Post Road East. When they got there, they found the driver outside of the car when they arrived.

Westport EMS and Rescue 3 of the Westport Fire Department examined the driver who was found to be uninjured. The Fire Marshall and The Building Department have assessed the building for structural damage and removed the car from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
