Who doesn't love a carnival? Grab the family, and help to raise some money for a Connecticut police officer.

Looking for some out door fun this week? It's carnival time in West Haven. Enjoy all that this event will offer, while doing some good locally. It's time to rally around those who defend and protect.

In a story from nhregister.com, Marenna Amusements is putting on a carnival to help with the recovery of an injured West Haven Police officer. Officer Michael Doyle sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash during a training exercise in upstate New York in June.

West Haven Police Detective and union President Sean Faughnan, had this to say to the New Haven Register.

You don’t realize how good a community is until tragedy happens. It goes a long way to see people really care. The Marennas are great people and what they are doing for West Haven and Doyle is phenomenal.

The carnival runs Thursday July 21 - Sunday July 24 at Old Grove Park ( the site of the Savin Rock Festival ) in West Haven. Proceeds will benefit Officer Doyle, as well as, the West Haven Emergency Assistance Task Force. You can read more at CityOfWestHaven.com

So, get ready to ride the rides and eat yourself silly while knowing you're helping out Officer Doyle and his family. I think that makes the cotton candy so much sweeter!
