‘Chowdah’ House Set to Bring Authentic New England Seafood to Bethel

It's official, greater Danbury is finally getting its very own CHOWDAH HOUSE!

Captain Lou's Chowdah House is getting ready for an early April opening and will be located at 180 Hawleyville Rd. in Bethel across from the Big Y where Rita's Ice Cream used to be. Captain Lou tells me his inspiration are the Rhode Island clam shacks located right on the water.

Not only will they feature their own homemade chowder but one of their specialties will be their clam cake. Captain Lou explained to me that it's nothing like a crab cake. It's actually a clam fritter that you dip into the chowder.  

The clams will be authentic Rhode Island quahogs and of course, Captain Lou's will also feature doughboys and ice cream. Here's what you can look forward to when they open in April at 180 Hawleyville Rd. in Bethel. Looooove the Chowdah!
