Three shopping Malls in the area have brought Christmas tree's back after their anti-Christmas display's caused controversy.

Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack, New Jersey, The Westchester in White Plains, New York, and Roosevelt Field in Garden City, Long Island, faced a backlash recently after they featured Santa displays in what is being called a "uniquely modern and interactive Santa experience featuring a wintry design."

According to nbcconnecticut.com the displays placed Santa in an "enchanted glacier," where children could play games within an artificial snow bank before hopping on his lap for the traditional holiday photo, but there were no signs of Christmas or Christmas Trees anywhere in the displays. The lack of Christmas outraged many, and since have been changed and new displays with a more traditional Christmas feel have been put up.

The company installed the displays in six of its 120 malls nationwide.
