What we once took for granted, will now be a thing of the past. Well, almost.

One of Connecticut's biggest attractions is Lake Compounce. Who can resist the rides or the water park? It's been a long time tradition in Connecticut and beyond, with car loads and bus loads of people ready for hours of fun. The famous amusement park in Bristol celebrates its 172nd season in 2018, and with it, comes a huge change.

You know how you work up a big thirst enjoying every thing that the park has to offer?Well, Lake Compounce knew that too, and back in 1999, they started the unlimited free soda program. Now, that tradition is about to change.

A story from nbcconnecticut.com, reports that starting in 2018, free soda will only be for people holding Diamond and Platinum season passes. Well, 18 years of free soda for all was a pretty good run I guess. Does that mean that the Diamond and Platinum people are required to hold their pinky up when sipping their free pop?

According to the story, the park wants to eliminate waste. Water will still be free. Lake Compounce is currently offering Black Friday deals on the Diamond and Platinum season passes. You can see the prices and what's offered at each ticket level by visiting lakecompounce.com/plan-a-visit/season-passes.
