Connecticut and New York Rank High In Safe State Study

With all the violence you hear about everyday, finally some good news when it comes to safe places to live. If you call New York or Connecticut home, check this out.

So you feel like things have gotten out of control these days. Seems like every time you turn on the news all you hear about is some type of violence, shootings, robbery.

Well finally some good news for people living in Connecticut and New York. According to a new study by wallethub.com, your living in one of the Top 15 safest states in the country. Connecticut places 7th on the list, and New York wasn't that far behind at number 13.

Now in order to determine the safest places to live, certain criteria was used like Personal & Residential Safety, Financial Safety, Road Safety, Workplace Safety and 33 other relevant metrics.

Both Connecticut and New York ranked highest in Personal and Residential Safety, with Connecticut scoring an overall ranking score of 59.98 and New York's overall score was just a little lower at 56.04.

The three top safest state's on this years list are all from New England with Vermont topping the list followed by Maine and Massachusetts. Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Mississippi were the three least safest states to live.
