Connecticut DMV Extends Deadlines For Expiring Credentials

If you have a license or registration that has, or will be expiring soon, or if you need plates, or emissions testing, the DMV has some good news for you.

The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles has announced that they have extended deadlines for residents with credentials that are, or will expire between August 1, 2020 and September 30, 2020.

Late fees that are associated with these credentials will be waved during this time as well.

This means that if you have a license, permit, international registration plan, boat registration, or emissions test, re-test or ID cards that expire during the time period mentioned, you will have an additional 90 days from the expiration date to renew.

The 90 day extension also applies to permanent disability placards, business licenses, temporary licences, temporary registrations, flashing light permits, and school bus proficiency tests.
