A Connecticut woman has now come forth claiming Joe Biden touched her inappropriately.

According to an article in the Hartford Courant, the alleged incident happened at a political fundraiser in Greenwich in 2009. The woman, Amy Lappos, told the Courant it made her feel extremely uncomfortable.

It wasn't sexual, but he did grab me by the head. He put his hand around my neck and pulled me in to rub noses with me. When he was pulling me in, I thought he was going to kiss me on the mouth. There's a line of respect. Crossing that line is not grandfatherly. It's not affection. It's sexism or misogyny.

Biden's friendly style of hugging, handshakes, and expressions of affection have never been an issue until recently. Biden has said that he believes he has never acted inappropriately. He also stated, "If it is suggested I did so, I will listen respectfully. But it was never my intention."

Lappos claimed that she was in the kitchen at a $1,000-per-plate Democratic fundraiser that took place in a private home on Oct. 5, 2009. She was in the kitchen with 4 or 5 other volunteers when Biden approached her. Also in attendance was a major contributor to Democrats, Bob Natt who lives in Easton. Natt claims he didn't see anything that was questionable. He went on to say,

The entire photo session was in good fun and Joe did nothing inappropriate.

The way I see it is that Biden has a warm fuzzy touchy style with just about everyone. But now we're smack dab in the middle of the Me Too Movement, where women have the power to call out and seek help against their unwanted aggressors, and I think it's about time.

Even though Mr. Biden doesn't think he's acted inappropriately, the women who are accusing him of inappropriate touching certainly have that right to do so.  I think Mr. Biden needs to amend his overly friendly meet n' greet style if he chooses to remain in the political arena. Just saying.
