WTNH TV News 8 reported that the food company, Danone North America, is closing their YoCrunch factory located in Naugatuck after more than fifteen years of production in the Connecticut building.

YoCrunch yogurt, which has always been a favorite both in my house and households across the country, is made at this Connecticut plant. Word has it that 147 jobs will be lost with the factory closing. Danone North America will still make the YoCrunch brand of yogurt the company says, but it will be made at other locations in North America. A Danone North America spokesperson stated that they will help employees seek jobs at other locations within the company and elsewhere.

This closure reportedly caught officials at the Naugatuck Economic Development corporation by surprise, and that they expressed that the corporation had done a lot of work with, and for, Danone of North America to assist with production here.

The plant in Naugatuck, CT will remain open until the first three months of 2019, but after that, it will be no more.
