I love surfing through the internet and reading different studies on random things quite like this topic right here. How would we ever know this kind of information if someone didn't research it? Can I live without it? Sure. But it's good to know.

I was quite surprised when I came across this list curated by Upgraded Points. They put together a list of the most popular cocktails from March 2020 to March 2021 for each state - that's why we can label it as the "pandemic cocktail". They got their data based off of what cocktails people were googling to make at home since bars and restaurants were closed for chunk of time (some still being closed).

Now listen, as I was scrolling and saw Connecticut's drink of choice, I was kind of shocked but I also 100% agree. Can you guess Connecticut's choice? I bet you can't. It was Coquito.

Now Connecticut is the only state out of all 50 to have Coquito as their most popular, but hey, we clearly have good taste.

The most common drinks were some of the basics: mimosas, pina coladas, wine coolers, white russians, mojitos, margaritas, you know. But we like to stand out here in Connecticut.

Don't know what Coquito is? I'm so sorry. You're really missing out. By definition according to Wikipedia, "Coquito is a traditional Christmas drink that originated in Puerto Rico. The coconut-based alcoholic beverage may remind some of eggnog, thus it being called the Puerto Rican Eggnog."

I'm glad to see our state has good taste. I really don't think I've ever met someone that would willingly turn down a glass of Coquito. So does this mean we drank heavily around the holidays? I'm not sure, but I look forward to the holidays solely for this.
