COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Now Available for Connecticut Residents Ages 65 to 74

Keep in mind that the vaccine has been in short supply across the country, which means that whether you register online or make a call to book your appointment, it could be a while before you get your first shot.

An article dated February 8th in the Hartford Courant states that beginning today, appointments can be made if you're 65 or older. If you choose to make your vaccine appointment by phone, call 877-918-2224. When I called the number,  a message informed me that reservations for the 75+ age group were being taken. That is not correct. Stay on the call and you can make your appointment.

Another option for scheduling your appointment is to go online and click dphsubmissions.ct.gov/OnlineVaccine. The governor's office formally announced the expansion of phase 1B of the vaccination program today to include ages 65+.

According to the Hartford Courant, the next group in the Phase 1B rollout are frontline essential workers and people with co-morbid conditions. They will likely become eligible in late February or March.

After residents of group homes, prisons, homeless shelters, and other essential workers receive their vaccinations, phase 1b will be complete, but that may not happen until late April or early May. Vaccinations will then become available for the rest of the adult population. Just a reminder that vaccinations will still be available to previous groups in phase 1a or 1b who missed out the first time around.
