Saturday night came to a intense end, while Sunday got off to a tragic start this weekend -- three local people lost their lives as the result of a house fire.

According to the Connecticut State Police, troopers, along side members of the Oxford PD and Fire Department, responded to 63 O'Neill Rd. at around 11:22 PM Saturday night (March 23) after receiving about twelve reports of the house being fully engulfed in flames.

While the details are scarce at this time, the state police have confirmed that three people have indeed passed away. The identities of those deceased will be released to the public pending investigation by the medical examiner.

State police say that while the case will remain within the Oxford PD, however, CT Major Crimes is there to assist.

This is a developing story and we'll be sure to keep you updated as more information rolls in.
