Grubhub just put out it's annual list of the trendiest home delivery meals for 2020. Some results were surprising and others make a lot of sense. For instance, last year's list featured a lot of healthier plates and in 2020 we are all about the comfort food.

The surprise for me was learning that the Nutmeg State's favorite home delivery food this year is Jamaican Beef Patties. I'm not blown away because they are bad, hell no, I love them and can eat about thirty in a sitting. It's just that, if I had to guess what CT's top delivery meal was, I would have guessed wrong about twelve times before finally answering right.

What about our neighbors? New York went with egg & turkey sausage sandwich (super specific) and New Jersey is so hot on steak, egg and cheese sandwiches. Their research also revealed the largest order to come through their system this year and wait for it, someone ordered 300 bean burritos.

The three top movers and shakers of the trendiest foods for 2020 were all chicken based. Spicy chicken sandwiches were king at #1, the chicken burrito bowl as #2 and chicken wings grabbed the #3 position.

And people want us to believe there is a chicken shortage? I'll believe that when fifty percent of every menu is not chock-full-a-chickens. Until then, spare me the chicken shortage nonsense. I'm not buying it, I need to save my money for chicken meals.

Below is a fun :30 second recipe for Jamaican Beef patties just in case you want to make them from home and not have your Grubhub delivery guy eat them on the way to your house, like my last delivery guy did.

Also, if you want to get the recipe right, maybe spend more than :30 seconds researching it, just saying.
