Construction work on Wooster Heights Road in Danbury is now underway, and drivers should be prepared to experience traffic delays for the next few weeks.

Eversource is in the process of installing a new gas main on Wooster Heights Road, and the construction will be happening from the intersection of Lee Farms Road to Terre Haute Road.

According to danbury-ct.gov, the project that started Monday will continue for the next three to four weeks. Drivers should be aware of traffic delay warning signs, and traffic control signs during the hours of construction. The good news for commuters, is the construction work will be done during off-peak hours starting at 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM.

While the work is being done, one-way alternating traffic will be in effect, and drivers are advised in order to avoid delays and inconveniences to take alternate routes when possible.

There is also construction happening for the next few weeks on Mountainville Ave, Southern Blvd, and Memorial Drive. There will be no road closings during this construction, but some lane and road access may be limited.

If you have any questions regarding these construction projects, you can get in touch with the Danbury Department of Public Works at 203-797-4605.
