Well as we're getting ready to start another school year in the coming weeks in Danbury, it looks as though one of the coaches is resigning.

The News Times Reports that Danbury High School Football Coach Mark Ecke has resigned after one year of coaching in the Hat City. This change is effective immediately according to the paper.

The high school has also announced that current defensive coordinator Alex Trasacco will take over as head coach on an interim basis. Ecke says he's leaving because he was also looking for a full time teaching position as the school as well, which wasn't available.

It was a brutal decision, I love Danbury, I love the kids, and the school is great. The administration is very supportive, but there wasn’t a spot as a full-time teacher, and I was able to get a job at Capital Prep. I had to do what was best for my family.

we thank Mark Ecke for his dedication and hard work over the last season at Danbury High, and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
