According to Detective Lieutenant Williams of the Danbury Police Department, the disturbing incident happened this past Friday (March 12) at a residence on Main Street, during which several males allegedly forced their way into the home, reportedly assaulting the resident before damaging a number of their belongings and some of the property.

As the Hat City's finest arrived to scene while the reported crime was still in progress, police say multiple suspects took off running, but one of the officers was able to briefly stopped two of the male suspects before they fled the scene, initiating a pursuit on foot.

From there, one of the fleeing suspects was eventually captured by officers in the area of Robinson Ave. after what's been described by police as a "violent" resistance to the arrest. The apprehended suspect has been reportedly identified as 19-year-old Levin Placencia of Danbury. Police believe that Placencia has some sort of connection to the victim of the home invasion and assault, but as of this writing, there is no clear motive for the crime.

Det. Lt. Williams reports that the remaining male suspects were able to evade Danbury police at the time of the pursuit, and the investigation into their identities is currently underway.

The victim of the violent home invasion received minor injuries as the result, but reportedly refused medical treatment.

Levin Placencia was taken into custody and charged with home invasion, assault, risk of injuries to a child, criminal mischief, interfering with the duties of a police officer, breach of peace, and disorderly conduct.
