Popular Danbury Ice Cream Spot to Open Southbury Location

Southbury has seen its share of food options change over the years. I miss Empire Szechuan. Denmo's has not seen anyone try to move in on their turf over the past few years, but that will soon change.

As I was driving past Nardelli's at the intersection of Main Street South and Peter Road, I saw a "Coming soon" sign on the facade of the building.

Double Twister Ice Cream Shop is located at 164 White Street in Danbury and next week, they will open a second location in Southbury! Double Twister is known for their wide variety of homemade, decadent ice creams that have kept WestConn students coming back for more. Congratulations, Double Twister, I hope that your new venture is a success.

I also noticed this while driving through town:

No, not the empty mail trucks, the steel that is going up behind them. They've FINALLY made some moves on the Holiday Cinemas project. Those huge mountains of dirt are getting pushed around, the foundation looks poured, and the steel girders are being welded into place. Hopefully by the Summer of 2017, we'll be able to catch a flick and eat some popcorn together in this long-awaited new space.
