Wallethub just wrapped up a ginormous study about which cities across the United States are the most diverse, and guess which three CT cities scored near the top?

After analyzing four categories of diversity, out of 331 cities, Danbury ranked at #21 with Stamford coming in at #24 and Norwalk at #28. Danbury ranked right up there with Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco.

Danbury's Mayor Mark Boughton told the NewsTimes that he think this is fantastic news for Danbury, and I couldn't agree more. Boughton also said that Danbury was built on people immigrating here and working in the hatting industry.

40 different languages are spoken throughout Danbury's school system, and 30% of Danbury's population is Hispanic. Brazilians who speak Portuguese number 10,000. The diversity scores took into consideration the ethnicity, along with social class, and household makeup. Among small cities with less than 100,000 people, Danbury was the 9th most diverse city in the country.
