More heroin, and two people police believe to have been dealing said heroin, are off the streets in Danbury.

According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, members of the city's Special Investigations Division (SID) and the Community Conditions Unit hit Main Street to execute search and seizure warrants in Lauren Gardens housing community. The warrants were issued by way of an investigation into 24-year-old, Denzel Wilkins, and 25-year-old, Tiffany Ortiz, both of Danbury. Police say that through investigative techniques and surveillance, they were able to spot Wilkins and Ortiz engaging in activity that was consistent with drug trafficking.

Then, on Thursday (June 22), investigators claim to have witnessed Wilkins pull off a drug transaction with 25-year-old Marissa Palumbo. The report says that when Palumbo exited Wilkins' car, she spotted police, and was seen hiding something in her shirt. Both Palumbo and Denzel Wilkins were found to be in possession of heroin.

At same time as Wilkins and Palumbo were stopped, officers executed the search and seizure warrant for the residence of Wilkins, where they found Tiffany Ortiz and a young child. A detailed search of the Wilkins-Ortiz residence turned up more heroin packaged for sale and cash that is considered proceeds of drug sales.

Wilkins, Ortiz, and Palumbo were all placed under arrest and processed at the Danbury Police Department.

Palumbo was charged with possession of heroin, while Ortiz and Wilkins have been charged with possession with intent to sell.
