As promised, local police have made another arrest in connection with a recent homicide.

Back on on Wednesday, March 18, 21-year-old Willy Placencia was pronounced dead after being rushed to Danbury Hospital following a stabbing, which occurred during a fight that had broken out at the skate park located at 32 Patriot Drive.

According to the Danbury Police Department, 36-year-old Shalina Tallman of Danbury is the sixth person to be arrested in relation to the homicide.

Tallman was reportedly taken into custody on Tuesday (April 7) after the superior court issued a warrant for her arrest. She has been charged with hindering prosecution after police accused her of knowingly rendering criminal assistance to some of the people involved in Placencia's killing. The Danbury woman is scheduled to appear in court on June 24.

Shalina Tallman's arrest follows the arrests of five others, including 20-year-old James Lema-Zaruma, an unidentified 16-year-old, an unidentified 15-year-old, 18-year-old Nykeem Hawkins, and 19-year-old Kenaas Council, all of Danbury.

The arrests are the result of an extensive investigation that included eye-witness interviews, many anonymous tips and all-around good police work.

The Danbury Police Department says that since this continues to be an ongoing and active investigation, court documents related to the case have been temporarily sealed.
