What kind of human being locks up a dog in the woods with no food or water and then walks away?

Woodbridge Animal Control tells the tragic story of a dog being locked up in a crate in the middle of the woods in Bethany Connecticut. An officer posted on Facebook that it appeared the dog was purposely placed in an area that would be difficult to find.

DNA samples are being lifted from the dog's collar and a $2,000 reward is being offered up for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for this heinous act.

According to Woodbridge Animal Control Officer Karen Lombardi, the young female pit bull mix will be cremated individually and laid to rest in a special place. Lombardi went on to say:

I wish this story had a happy ending. I wish I was given the opportunity to take her and treat her with love and care while searching for a home that would appreciate the gift they were given. I wish I could have saved you.

We want to give her the respect she deserves that she didn't get when she was alive.

Animal Control is hoping that anyone with information will call the animal control office at 203-389-5991.
