Dover Dragons Repeat as Regional Mascot Champions/Record High Votes Cast
No one could stop the Dover Dragons as they held off a strong challenge from the Pawling Tigers to repeat as Regional Mascot Madness Champions.
They dominated during the Mascot Madness New York voting, then went wire to wire holding off an aggressive challenge by the Pawling Tigers. The Dover Dragons have done it again, and are the 2017 Regional Mascot Madness Champions.
The win for Dover marks back to back titles, and another giant pep rally at Dover High School. At the pep rally, the Dragons will be presented with the 2017 Regional Mascot Madness Trophy courtesy of Crown Trophies of Brookfield.
A record high 109,586 votes were cast during the final four battle, including votes from seven countries from around the world. The Dragons got an early quick start and never fell out of first place for the entire week.
Here are the final results and standings:
- Dover Dragons 66,191
- Pawling Tigers 37,538
- New Fairfield Rebels 3,250
- Danbury Hatters 2,607
