Dover Dragons Win Best Mascot, Take Regional Crown
The Dover Dragons held off a tough challenge from the New Fairfield Rebels to capture the title of the regions most popular mascot.
In what became an epic mascot battle all week, the Dover Dragons got a late surge to overtake the second place New Fairfield Rebels during the March Mascot Madness.
The voting went back and forth for days with no school holding more then a double digit lead. That all changed on Friday, as the Dover Dragons surged ahead, never looking back. Dover called on all their resources, including students, alumni, and residents to become the first ever Kicks 105.5 March Mascot Madness champion.
Rounding out the final 4, The Danbury Hatters finished third, followed by the Brewster Bears.
Almost 90,000 votes were cast just during the final four poll alone, and over 125,000 votes were cast during the entire March Madness competition.
The Dover Dragons will now receive a special Regional Mascot Championship plaque, and trophy from Crown Trophies of Brookfield, and Mr. Morning and Liz will do a special, live morning show broadcast from the school and make the official trophy presentation.
Here are the final numbers (Votes):
- Dover Dragons 46,695
- New Fairfield Rebels 31,892
- Danbury Hatters 7,493
- Brewster Bears 2,825
Congratulations to all our finalists on a great competition.
