Sometimes it's just a trickle of water passing through the Stevenson Dam on the Housatonic River, and sometimes you see a little more than that. Yesterday there was a whole lot more as you can see in this Youtube Video from the Urban Archaeologist. This dramatic drone video shows the rapid outflow of storm water following Tuesday's storms. The Stevenson Dam was constructed by Connecticut Light and Power Company along with the bridge back in 1919, and looks to be handling the overflow well.

It appears the flood gates are open as the Stevenson Dam operates under Route 34 with the bridge spanning the Housatonic River here in Connecticut. The dam bridge joins the two  towns of Monroe and Oxford. Above the dam is Lake Zoar, a recreational paradise that many Connecticut boaters take advantage of. The 42 foot wide span is comprised of 24 concrete arches. It's a beautiful sight before during and after storms.
