Every Christmas Eve for the last four years, Elmer watches the sky looking for Santa,  hoping that his Christmas wish, to have a family of his very own, comes true.

Elmer isn't looking for treats, blankets, or even stuffed toys for Christmas, what Elmer wants most of all is a family that he can love.

Unfortunately, Elmer is losing his Christmas spirit after being at the shelter since he was a pup. Will you help his Christmas Wish come true? Would you be willing to send him a Christmas card and let him know that he is loved, and that his perfect family is out there somewhere?

If you share this story and the video, maybe someone will know he's the PERFECT pup for them, and they can have a very Merry Elmer Christmas.

Send your cards to Elmer  at the Animal Welfare Society, 8 Dodd Road in New Milford, 06776.

Elmer has been at AWS for 4 years. He really is a good boy! He is a pit bull mix with lots of love to give! He's best as the only pet in the house, and with no small kids. It's not because he's not a nice dog, it's just because he's so strong and loves people so much, he might knock them over! He loves his blankies, his toys and freeze-dried treats, a good head scratch, lots of snuggles and a lap to try and fit on. He really is someone's perfect dog.
