Relatives report that her health began deteriorating in the last two weeks, according to the New York Daily News. Her doctors said her cancer spread to her brain, and that’s when her family decided to bring her home.

At 25-years-old she began her television career at WBAI TV in Bangor Maine and soon after was a success story in the most competitive television market in the nation. She worked for 17 years at WCBS, and another 7 with WNBC.
