Tyler Childers' highly anticipated second album is officially on the way. On May 16, the singer debuted a brand-new song, "House Fire," and also announced album details, a headlining tour and -- to top it all off -- a new partnership with a major record label.

Childers' new project follows his debut album, Purgatory, which was named The Boot's best Americana album of 2017. Childers also holds the title of the Americana Music Associations' 2018 Emerging Artist of the Year.

Below, The Boot rounds up all the details about Childers' second album. Read on for what you need to know.

The Title

On May 16, Childers revealed that the title of his sophomore album will be Country Squire. The project shares its name with the first song in its track list, as well as his upcoming Country Squire Run headlining tour.

The Release Date

Country Squire is set for release on Aug. 2.

The Record Label

Childers' next project will be released via Hickman Holler Records / RCA Records. Hickman Holler also released Purgatory, but the new project marks the artist's first collaboration with major label RCA.

The Producers

As he did with his debut album, Childers worked with Americana star Sturgill Simpson on his new project. David Ferguson co-produced the record with Simpson.

The Album Cover

Childers unveiled the cover art for Country Squire in a short animated video he posted to Twitter on May 16. The video depicts the artist taking hit after hit from a pipe, until he finally reaches the album art's final form.

Eventually, we see the animated Childers sitting against a black backdrop with a grimace on his face and the flame of a candle over his head. Flanking him on either side are a lineup of colorful animals and monsters, while a series of arms fan out around him, making a series of gestures. Beneath him, a snake curls into the image of an Ouroboros.

The Single

Childers has shared "House Fire" as the lead track from his new project. The song's music video features a pair of dancers locked in an intricate, line dance-style step as Childers sings and passes a bottle back and forth with a friend.

The Songs

Country Squire will feature nine new tracks. Childers contributes vocals and acoustic guitar to the project. In addition, Stuart Duncan contributes fiddle, mandolin and banjo to the album; Miles Miller adds drums and background vocals; and Russ Pahl brings acoustic guitar, electric guitar, pedal steel, Jaw harp and baritone to the songs.

In a press release, Childers indicates that he had the region where he grew up -- eastern Kentucky -- in mind when crafting the album. "I hope that people in the area that I grew up in find something that they relate to," he explains. "I hope that I'm doing my people justice and I hope that maybe someone from somewhere else can get a glimpse of the life of a Kentucky boy."
