It seems like it's a race to the finish line for some expecting moms, especially when their due date is close to the New Year.

This year, the honor of having Connecticut's first baby of the year goes to Dave and Taylor Venice of Woodbridge. They welcomed their third child, Arabella, just four minutes into the New Year.

According to newstimes.com, Arabella entered the world at 12:04 AM on January 1 at Griffin Hospital’s Childbirth Center in Derby. By the way, she weighed in at 8 lb. 6 oz., and was 20.5 inches.

The hospital seems to have some sentimental value for the Venice family. According to a press release, both of the family's other children were born there, as well as the children's father Dave.

There were two other Connecticut babies born during the first hour of the year. Greenwich Hospital welcomed their first of 2020 at 12:50 AM, and at Yale New Haven Hospital, their first baby of the year arrived at 12:56 AM.
