First Selectman’s Office in Bethel to Offer Free Thanksgiving Meal

Thanksgiving. When I think of that day I can't help but have a warm feeling and great memories. Sadly that doesn't happen for every one. But I wanted to share how one local community is making a difference.

The First Selectman’s office of Bethel announced it is holding a community Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 24 from noon - 4 p.m.

I've said time and again, when your neighbor closes the door to their home, you never fully know what need is behind that door. So with that in mind, local individuals, as well as restaurants and businesses have stepped up to donate to make this Thanksgiving meal a reality.

The First Selectman's Office in Bethel says the dinner is open and free to not only those in need but also residents who would otherwise be alone on Thanksgiving. You must however make a reservation in advance. You have until Nov. 22 to do so, by calling  Dionne Craig, of the first selectman’s office, at 203-794-8501. The dinner will be held in the Senior Center cafeteria in the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, located on 1 School Street in Bethel.
