Friday Night With the Girls at Filet in Newtown [PHOTOS]

Friday nights are always fun, because you know you have the whole weekend ahead of you. We usually don't have anything big planned, but this past Friday, I had made plans to get together with some friends I hadn't seen in a pretty long time.

This particular group of friends, I have known since I was a freshman in high school. So, we've been friends for a while. I'm not going to say how long, just a while. As with any group of friends, there have been ups and downs, but we have always considered each other very close friends.

I have plenty of entertaining stories that have happened over the years, but I'd like to keep these friendships. So, I'll have to keep those stories to myself.

Some of us are married, some are not. Some of us have kids, some of us don't. We all still get along, and laugh quite a bit when we are together, which is what counts. Finding time to get together with good friends is very important, at least I think so. Reminiscing and laughing until you cry are great ways to spend a Friday night.

We all met up at Filet in Newtown, and we were there for quite some time. It was very nice of them to let us chat for as long as we did. Between the good friends, the wine, the good food, and the wonderful service, we all had a fantastic time.

If you have never been to Filet, it's a restaurant in Newtown that has been around for a year or so. They are a steak and seafood place, with a pretty good menu. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. One of my friends is a vegan, and they were very accommodating to her. Plus, instead of having a dessert menu, they bring the desserts out on a tray so you can see what you are ordering. Loved that! Garfield was the one taking care of us that night, and he was absolutely wonderful.

Loved the inside of the restaurant too. They have a fireplace in the middle of the dining room that kind of separates the room in half, and makes it feel like there are two separate rooms. It's very cozy and inviting.

All in all, I would say that my Friday night was pretty awesome. It's good to get together with the girls and have a good time, which is exactly what we did.
