The Back to the Future movies are some of my favorites and definitely one of my favorite trilogies ever made. Between the writing and the chemistry of the actors (minus Crispin Glover being absent from the last two movies), they are some of the most entertaining movies. Who knew 30 years ago that these movies would still have such a large following and be considered classics!

Ok, so we don't have flying cars, self-drying clothes, and we don't have hydrating machines to hydrate a pizza ("Hydrate level 4, please), but we do have fax machines (not sure how many people still use them) and video chatting.

In honor of #BacktotheFuture Day my husband and I are having some friends over for a viewing party of Back to the Future II, the day Marty goes 30 years into the future to October 21, 2015.

Planning the party got us thinking about the different foods of the eighties and whether or not they still exist. Here are some of the foods from the eighties that I remember (and that came up in my Google search):

  • Clearly Canadian - Oh yeah, I had my fair share of these. Blackberry, please!
  • Shark Bites - Remember these? Everyone loved the great white flavor.
  • O'boises - Potato crisps from Keebler. Some say you can still get these, but I haven't seen them in a very long time.
  • PIzzarias - Another one from Keebler. These actually have a following on Facebook. There is a group you can join to try to get them back on the market.
  • Push Up Pops - Loved these! My favorite was Bedrock Berry, but they also had Yabba Dabba Doo Orange, Lime Rock Lime, Raspberry Rubble, Cave Kid Cherry, and Granite Grape.
  • Hi-C Ecto Cooler - I can't say that I drank much of this, but it was super popular in the 80s. This was a drink that was themed after the popular Ghostbusters movie and the ghost "Slimer" from the movie.

What about you? What foods from the 80s do you remember? It's an interesting way to go down memory lane.

I'll leave you with some totally awesome clips from the 80s:
