Today, September 23, marks the first official day of the Autumn season as of just after 4am early this morning.

According to The News Times, fall officially began at 4:22am, and over the past few days you can already feel and smell the autumn season in the air!

Today is also referred to as the "Autumnal Equinox", where the day and night are of equal length in time. The sunrise for this morning was 6:41 am. and sunset will be at 6:48 pm, as our days continue to get shorter as we get even closer to the winter.

According to National Geographic, the longest day of the year was back in June for the first day of Summer, so slowly but surely the days have been getting shorter, and will continue to. Today is the day that the sun will pass directly over the equator of the Earth, the exact middle between the northern and southern hemispheres.

Around here, I LOVE going to Blue Jays and Salinger's Orchards to get those delicious apple cider donuts and pies. Welcome to Fall!
