There is a desperate need to find people to adopt dogs from the Hartford Animal Shelter in Bloomfield. It always makes me sad to think these shelters have to put dogs down just because they can't find a home.

According to WFSB, the shelter went from four dogs to 12 dogs in less than two days. They also told WFSB that since there are more dogs on the way, and they are two cages away from being full, the dogs have less than two weeks to find a home once they are advertised as available for adoption.

NBC Connecticut reports that if these dogs don't find homes by Saturday, they will be euthanized. The shelter needs to find homes for more than two dozen dogs by tomorrow, and employees are at the shelter today to help try and place these dogs.

If you or anyone you know is looking adopt, please, please contact them today! These are the instances where I wish I had a house that was five times bigger, so I could take in these dogs that are in danger of being put down.

Here is the contact info for the shelter:

If you can't adopt, please share. Let's save these dogs!
