We Want to Explore — What Are the MOST Haunted Places In Our Area?
Tis the season for ghost's and all things scary including haunted houses and other places that may be possessed. So where are the most haunted spots in our area, we need to know.
Nobody wants to run into any evil spirits, but you know that there are many places throughout Connecticut and New York that have been know to be home to some paranormal occurrences.
So here's what we're doing. Suzy and I are looking for the most haunted spot in the area so that we can take our digital team there and see if there really is something scary going on.
So far we've got some pretty good places to look into including:
Tilly Foster Mine in Brewster, New York
The iron mine is actually in the Town of Southeast. In 1895, there was a major collapse that killed 13 miners. They are said to still haunt the area to this day.
Fairfield Hills in Newtown, Connecticut
Newtown officials view Fairfield Hills as the town's jewel, but it does have a reputation outside of town as being haunted by those who were mistreated there as mental patients. The large campus, with its 15 or so buildings, has gained a cult following on paranormal message boards.
Smally's Inn & Restaurant in Carmel, New York
Smalley's is now an Italian-American Restaurant and is rumored to be haunted by Elizabeth Smalley, who was killed as a todler. Her tombstone was recently discovered under the basement steps
Dudleytown in Cornwall, Connecticut
A local rumor alleges that the founders of Dudleytown were descended from Edmund Dudley, an English nobleman who was beheaded for treason. From that moment on, the Dudley family was placed under a curse, which followed them across the Atlantic to America.[
Buckout Road in White Plains, New York
The story of Buckout Road, a spooky stretch of roadway in Westchester, is similar to the “Bloody Mary” story. You drive to Buckout Road, you stop at the red house, you honk your horn three times, then cannibal, flesh-eating albinos come out and rip you limb from limb.
