Hurricane Harvey continues to devastate parts of Texas and Louisiana, and you want to help those affected, so what can you do?

Even though we are miles away from the Texas and Louisiana areas that were devastated by Hurricane Harvey, I'm sure you want to reach out and help. So what are the best ways to do it and where should you donate?

Thousands of people have been forced to leave their flooded homes, losing everything they own, so here's a list of sites that you can visit to lend your support.

According to, these are charity and relief organizations that are currently helping Hurricane Harvey victims.

  • The American Red Cross - You can make a donation by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), visiting or by downloading the free Red Cross Emergency App. The Emergency App is available in app stores by searching for the American Red Cross or going to You can also text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10.
  • The Salvation Army - Donations to the Salvation Army can be made online, by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769) or texting STORM to 51555.
  • Singer Chris Young's GoFundMe page was one of the first set up for Hurricane Harvey Relief.
  • YouCaring has a fund-raising page set up by J. J. Watt of the Houston Texans with a goal of $3 million.
  • GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund has been set up to meet the immediate needs of those in area's affected by the storm. They help supply food, fuel, clean water, hygiene products and shelter, as well as long term recovery efforts.
