I Found the Most Chill Things in Ottawa This Weekend – Literally

My weekend interlude with "Winterlude" in Ottawa, Canada has been a blast. Yes arctic, but, amazing. It's a city-wide annual festival and this year it's extra special because Canada is celebrating it's 150th anniversary.

The event features all kinds of free fun that took us from concerts with fans dancing on snow, to snow mazes, ice and snow sculptures, ice skating on The Rideau Canal Skateway, the world's largest skating rink. The Guinness book of World Records has given the Skateway that title, as it is nearly 5 miles long with a maintained surface equal to 90 Olympic size skating rinks. When we skated  yesterday with tens of thousands of other people on the canal, we had plenty of room and no waiting to get on the ice. As far things you do have to pay for, the Canadian exchange rate gives you a generous discount on all your purchases.

Ottawa is a city that mixes French Culture and Language with English so there's no fear of a language barrier.

This festival continues next weekend so you still have time to be a part of it. Winterlude is underway until February 20, 2017.
