Cheers to you and me -- the National Day Calendar proclaims September 7 as National Beer Lover's Day, I proclaim it to be good. Here's why:

We sure do love our beer in Connecticut. You can even follow it's trail, with a fantastic listing of over 30 different craft beer companies easily found online at ctbeertrail.net

Further proof of that love is a bill that was signed into law by Governor Malloy on July 7 of this year.

Things are extremely tasty in the world of craft beers in our state. According to an article earlier this year in the Hartford Courant, back in 2011, there were 16 microbreweries, brewpubs and contract brewers in Connecticut. The article goes on to say that the number has continued to grow every year since and by 2015 there were 35. By the end of January 2017, there were 55.

Seems like our love of beer goes well beyond National Beer Lover's Day. While you knock back a few today to celebrate, don't forget that i95 knows how much you do adore a great party in honor of beer. So beer lovers unite, because today we prime for Saturday Sept. 23 and the 4th Annual CT On Tap Craft Beer Festival

Ives Concert Park in Danbury will be a place of joy as over 100 beers will be available from some of America's best craft breweries. So celebrate National Beer Lover's Day by saving money and buying your CT On Tap tickets in advance.

Cheers.
