Election season is in full swing, and Justin Moore has thrown his support behind Donald Trump.

“I said a couple of years ago that, for the Republican Party to get in the White House, it was going to take something completely out of the box in order to make that happen," the singer tells CMT's Cody Alan. "I think Trump is doing that.

"I like the fact that he evokes a sense of winning, you know?" Moore, a Republican, continues. "I know it’s offensive to some people, and I’m not going to say I agree with everything he says, clearly. I think he’s just wacky enough to actually go do it. He doesn’t like to lose. I think he’ll win for our country if he were to get in there.”

However, Moore adds, "I can respect the differences in people. No matter if you agree with me or I agree with you or not, we can at least respect the fact that we both have educated viewpoints on it.”

Moore is not the only country artist to express support for the businessman-turned-politicianKid Rock says he's "digging Trump," while Loretta Lynn calls him "the only one who’s going to turn this country around.”

Merle Haggard, however, is not a fan.

“He’s not a politician. I don’t think he understands the way things work in Washington, that’s what worries me about him," the country legend says. "I don’t think he realizes he can’t just tell somebody to do something and have it done, you know. I think he’s dealing from a strange deck.”

Moore’s latest single, “You Look Like I Need a Drink,” is available for download on iTunes.
