Kenny Chesney announced what he thought would be his only stadium show of 2017 a few weeks ago, but the superstar has changed his mind due to overwhelming demand. He has added a second show at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., in August.

Chesney has decided to take some time to recharge his batteries next year, after releasing an album and touring very extensively in 2016. But he didn't want to stay away from the roar of the crowd entirely, so he initially booked one of his massive shows for Aug. 25, with Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion as his support acts. The response was so overwhelming that Chesney announced a second show has been added via posts to social media on Tuesday (Nov. 29).

"I just wanted to say how excited I am that we're adding a second night to Gillette Stadium," he says in the video above, which he posted to Instagram.

The new show is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, the night after the first show. There will be a special presale for Chesney's fan club members beginning Wednesday (Nov. 30) at 10AM local time, and seats will go on sale to the general public on Friday (Dec. 2). Gillette Stadium has always been one of Chesney's favorite venues.

"From the beginning, the amount of heart and soul that came at us from the first note at Gillette was beyond intense. It’s never let up, it’s never slowed down," he said in announcing the first show. "Every summer, every show, every song, they push us even harder than we push them. It’s kind of addicting, and something I can’t imagine a summer without."
