Let's tell it like it is; the Coronavirus is out of control in the United States as we enter the July 4th Weekend. Governor Lamont recently put the brakes on reopening the bars in Connecticut, but now he's considering a pause in the third phase of CT's reopening according to the Hartford Courant.

The Governor told the Courant, "I'm looking at the flare-ups. They're getting closer to Connecticut." Phase three reopening originally included bars, and then indoor event spaces plus significant outdoor events of up to 100 people later this month.

Currently, Connecticut's travel advisory includes 16 states, which the Governor thinks is making a difference in helping to keep CT's infection rates lower. New infection rates over the last seven days have been breaking records in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin which is cause for alarm. Surgeon General, Jerome Adams told the Washington Post,

As we talk about the Fourth of July and independence, it's important to understand that if we wear the masks, we'll actually have more independence and more freedom because more places will be able to stay open.

The famous quote from Patrick Henry in 1775, 'Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death' has taken on a whole new meaning for people who refuse to wear a face-covering. To choose to ignore the advice of the CDC and jeopardize their life is their business and right, but it doesn't stop there. Those same people are also endangering the lives of others because they refuse to wear a mask.
