No one wants to be stuck in traffic, so if I can give you a heads up on an area to avoid, I'm all over it.

If you make use of Route 53/Redding Road on a daily basis, you need to know about an upcoming DOT project.

From the Connecticut Department of Transportation website comes the following:

A milling and resurfacing project is set for a 3.61-mile segment of Route 53 (Redding Rd.) in Redding. The project is scheduled to start on Tuesday, June 20, and run through Wednesday, July 12.

Lane Closure info from the DOT:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 53 (Redding Rd.) between Route 107 (Lonetown Rd.) and the Bethel town line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Milling night work will take place on June 20. Paving night work will take place on July 5 Night work hours will be 8 pm - 5 am

As always, weather and other unpredictable issues, may affect the schedule. Please drive safely through any work zones, and be aware of any DOT workers in the vicinity of the work zone as well.
