Lovers Leap In New Milford Named Among ‘Enchanting Spots’ in CT
There's a list out that describes the some of the most "enchanted" places in Connecticut that may be overlooked by some residents and Lovers Leap in New Milford has made that list.
The list was compiled by the website onlyinyourstate.com, and they list 13 spots that should definitely be visited. They also claim these are places that "no one knows exist."
Now first off, I agree that it should be on the list. Lovers Leap is one of those magical places that is definitely worth checking out. As far as being a place no one knows about, my wife and I have been going to Lovers Leap for years. It's one of our go-to places to get away from the daily grind. There's nothing like hiking to the peak, and just taking in the breath taking view. I've even been there to do a video for the station about the "locks of love" that are all over the Lovers Leap Bridge.
Now Lovers Leap is not all about the bridge, there are a number of cool hiking trails that encompass most of the park. You can spend the good part of a day hiking in and around the area, checking out the spectacular views and of course, the tragic and romantic history that is Lovers Leap. Let's not forget about the great photo 'ops you'll have while you're there.
Here's a gallery of photo's I've taken from Lovers Leap over the years:

I'm sure most of the locals have been to Lovers Leap, but what about you? Since it's listed as a place "no one knows about," you can keep it all to yourself, or you can let your friends know about this hidden treasure. As for me, I'm keeping quiet about this place. I like it just the way it is — one of Connecticut's most enchanted places.
Here are a few of the other locations that made the Top 13 Enchanted Spots:
- Craig Castle in Meriden
- Hollister House Garden in Washington
- Saville Dam in Barkhamsted

- Bluff Point in Groton
- Thimble Islands in Branford
- Lighthouse Point Park in East Haven
