A 76-year-old man in Bridgeport didn't like the fact his wife was late with his lunch. So what did he do, according to police?

An article at ctpost.com reports that the man's name is Khurshid Butt, and for not having his lunch ready on time, he allegedly decided that beating his wife with his cane was an acceptable punishment. After Butts woke up from an afternoon snooze and found out his lunch wasn't quite ready, he proceeded to beat his wife with his cane causing welts on her arms and face.

Butt reportedly stood before Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton who charged him with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, and then him told not to have contact with his wife while his case was pending. Butt simply uttered, "OK."

Butts was released after posting $5,000 bond.
