I feel the need to keep my peeps safe and healthy! Check out the newest recall information.

Just in case you missed it, another food recall has been issued by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. Connecticut is one of the states that the items were shipped to retail locations.

The news release posted on the USDA website, fsis.usda.gov says the following:

Expresco Foods, Inc., a Montréal, Québec establishment, is recalling approximately 20,446 pounds of imported chicken skewer products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. The fully cooked chicken skewer items were packaged on August 9 and 15, 2017.

The release goes on to say that the problem was discovered by the FSIS import inspector during routine inspection of foreign shipments. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service, as well as the company, are concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers' freezers. If you have purchased these products you are urged not to consume them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
